Educator.

I am a proud educator and mentor.

I taught Public Speaking and Acting at UCSD to 20 talented undergraduate students, each quarter, for 3 years. Currently, I freelance as a teaching artist offering instruction in acting, public speaking, dance, and audition prep.

Take a look at what my students are saying about me.

  • “Colby has great energy and always makes the class super fun! She is caring, encouraging, inclusive, and supportive. I also appreciate her constructive feedback to help us improve our public speaking skills. I came to this class with social and speech anxiety, and it's still hard to believe that I can make so many genuine connections with my classmates and improved so much on my public speaking skills. She made us feel like a close community! I will miss this class!”

  • “Colby's teaching is engaging. She is always energetic and passionate in courses. Also, she cares about every student, and her advice on our scene is very instructive and practical. She helped a lot in our play show; she helped us with the details and helped us understand our characters and plays through some interesting activities. I really love her. She is the best IA I've ever had for my GE courses.”

  • “Colby was incredibly engaging during class and I always looked forward to class because I knew there would be something interesting to do. She is clearly passionate about her craft it is evident in her actions. She is really dedicated when it comes to helping students become better actors and is even willing to meet them outside of class to improve their skills. Colby's class encouraged me to take more theater classes in the future as well!”

  • “As someone who is more on the shy side, Colby made class fun to participate in.”

  • “Very passionate and she would guide you step by step patiently to help you do better.”
